Our Mission
DIFY Foundation’s purpose is to provide opportunities, support, and resources to meet the basic needs of families, promoting development, community awareness, education, and advocacy, to shift power and create systemic change for social justice and equity in Houston, Colorado and Indiana.
Our Vision
- DIFY Foundation believes that every human being is an integral part of society and that his development depends basically on the values and capacities learned in the family nucleus.
- DIFY Foundation believes that barriers to democratic participation are the greatest challenge facing youth and minorities families, and through their political development and empowerment we can make an equal society.
- DIFY Foundation believes that every human being should be taken care of their necessities such as, food, clothes, shelter, and emotional development.
- DIFY Foundation believes that the community should be a part of minorities families and youth development in the metropolitan area of Houston, Texas.
- DIFY Foundation believes that our diverse community can work together to achieve immigrants’ integrity without discrimination of sex, color, race, or religion.
Objectives
- Promote diversity, equity, and justice among varying cultures of the world in different fields of workforce.
- Expand awareness throughout the community about social justice, organizing and civil rights for immigrants and refugees.
- Leadership development is an integral part of community organizing, and DIFY Foundation builds the power of movement leaders. By investing in our most valuable resource in low-wage communities of color and immigrants.
- Provide community organization aims to organize, mobilize, and educate people to build a sense of justice in the community.
- Help young parents in the journey to effectively manage their family, work, and educational responsibilities.
- Organize events of interest to the community such as civic education, labor rights, family violence, leadership development, and others.

Paul Puente
Paul J. Puente is the Executive Secretary and Delegate of the Houston Gulf Coast Building and Construction Trades Council representing the various construction local unions and (20) twenty counties.
Paul became familiar with the skilled trades midway through his career and is currently registered with the State of Texas as a Journeyman Wireman Electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 716 and an Organizer and Assistant Business Manager.Paul is also a Delegate for the Harris County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council, member of the Houston Business Roundtable and others organizations representatives workers in Houston Texas.

Richard Shaw
Richard was a Texas AFL-CIO Vice President and he served on the National AFL-CIO’s State Federation and Central Labor Council Advisory Committee. Richard graduated from the University of Houston in 1969 and completed some graduate studies at Texas Southern University. He serves on the Gulf Coast Workforce Board (since 1997), and previously on the NAACP Houston Branch’s Executive Committee. Shaw is also on the Advisory Committee for the Mayor’s Hire Houston Youth Program. He is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum. He is one of three Authors (Bob Locander, Kevin Bailey) of the book, How Texas Politics Really Works and The Real World of Texas Politics.

In 2018, Reyes worked as the news director for Ciudad Digital Houston, where she covered policy and state legislation, with a focus on issues such as Texas laws on abortion and the defense of girl athletes.
Reyes also worked at CNN Español as an editor-assignment desk freelancer from November 2005 to the present. In this role, she made editorial decisions on stories and managed the assignment desk for the network’s Spanish-language programming.
Overall, Yolanda Reyes has had a successful career in journalism, with a focus on tv, radio and news production.
